E.   After serving for two weeks, and with the approval from the Council, a Ensign will be promoted after 1 full day waiting period. (If you are approved on Thursday, you will not gain your new rank until Saturday). The approval will be announced to the general membership immediately. Any member that does not approve of the promotion is obligated to voice their concerns privately with the Council.
F.   After the 1 week waiting period, Council approval, and the 1 day waiting period, the Ensign will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. The general |ufa| population will be the ranks of Lieutenant and Commander.
G.   Commanders seeking advancement have two areas of advancement. The Administrative Area, and the Field Area.

III.   Administrative Advancement

A.   Administrative promotions are permanent and can only be removed by a unanimous Council vote. If a Council member is being voted on, he/she is not eligible to vote.
B.   Administrative ranks are clan-wide.
C.   Any member who looses his/her administrative rank (due to conduct unbecoming and officer)  will automatically be given the rank of Lieutenant  and be on probation for at least 1 month.
D.   The first Administrative promotion given to a Commander is the rank of Captain. Captains see that everything is going right and assist the Council in all their duties. Captains are granted level 2 clearance on the forums.
E.   To be eligible for the rank of Captain a member must have been a Commander for at least 2 months.
F.   After 2 months the Council may approve a Commanders promotion to Captain.
G.   After a 1 day waiting period the Commander will become a Captain. Any member who disagrees with the promotion is obligated to bring their concerns to the Council during this waiting period.
H.   After a Captain has held his rank for 3 months, he/she will be eligible for the rank of Admiral.
I.   Admirals are members of the |ufa| Council and make up both the legislative and judicial branches of the clan. Admirals are granted level 3 clearance on the forums.

d.   (CO)s only have power in the field assigned to them by the Council; however, in this area they have complete power to restructure as they please. Any ranks assigned by a (CO) in a particular division will be confined to that division.
e.   (CO)s are empowered to promote one and only one member of their division to the rank of Executive Officer (XO). It is entirely the (CO)’s decision who gets this promotion.
